White-tailed Eagle Reintroduction Program
In 2023, we decided to support the Lake Geneva Eagles conservation project: the reintroduction of White-tailed Eagles.
A national action plan has been put in place to help the return of the fishing eagle to our country. It is within this framework that from 2022 to 2030, 85 young eagles will be reintroduced from the shores of Lake Geneva.
A young eagle was therefore sponsored by the Château des Milandes and will take flight in 2024.
Celebrating castles 2026
Many castles open their doors to you and offer you numerous activities, exceptional events as well as great surprises!
Ural Owl Reintroduction Program
This project is carried out in Germany by the association V.L.A.B (Association for the Preservation of the Landscape, the Protection of Species and Biodiversity) and is directed by Michaela Domeyer.

This initiative, which began in 2017, aims to reintroduce the Ural Owl into an area of the Bavarian Forest where it had disappeared for more than a hundred years. The Château des Milandes has therefore entrusted, for the first time, its three young people born in 2022 who were released during the summer with six other young people born in France.
We renewed this partnership in 2023 where 2 young people were also released in July.
We will continue this partnership until the success of this program, that is to say, having a self-sufficient population in nature, in the Bavarian Forest.
Exceptional concert by the Austrasia Quartet on April 24, 2026!
The Austrasia Quartet will perform Mozart’s String Quartet No. 15, K. 421 in D minor and Schubert’s String Quartet No. 13 in A minor, “Rosamunde.”
Under the artistic direction of Laurent Tardif, the Austrasia Quartet will immerse you in the heart of classical music through delicate melodies enhanced by the exceptional acoustics of our auditorium—a projection room located in the wine cellar and restored in 2025!
Let’s celebrate biodiversity together from May 23 to 25, 2026!
In 2026, the Château des Milandes is honoring biodiversity for the Pentecost weekend, from Saturday May 23 to Monday May 25, 2026, through the broadcast of a new film produced in the castle park, conferences and round tables with specialists in fauna and flora as well as new activities around the players in our ecosystem!
Come and marvel in order to understand and act for nature!
