In 2026, the Château des Milandes is honoring biodiversity for the Pentecost weekend, from Saturday May 23 to Monday May 25, 2026, through the broadcast of a new film produced in the castle park, conferences and round tables with specialists in fauna and flora as well as new activities around the players in our ecosystem!

Program for Saturday May 23, 2026!

Our weekend dedicated to biodiversity begins at 2:00 p.m. in our brand new exhibition and screening rooms in the company of several passionate... and exciting speakers!

From 2:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., different stands will be accessible in the exhibition room located in the old castle cellar :

  • Manon Béréhouc, naturalist, wildlife videographer and bat specialist.
  • Gaël Mange, videographer and wildlife photographer.
  • Marc Hammouche, naturalist, insect specialist.
  • Séverine Bosq, herbalist, specialist in wild plants.
  • Franck Espagnet, sculptor and creator of driftwood works.

You will be able to discuss their specialties with them, discover or rediscover in a fun and educational way the secrets of the fauna and flora that surround us while learning how to protect them properly.

 

At 3:30 p.m., walk with Angélique de Labarre, owner of Milandes, in the company of sculptor Franck Espagnet in the gardens (30 min) :

Discussions on the driftwood works of the artist Franck Espagnet and our garden: ephemeral works in a remarkable garden, beauty merges!

 

At 5:15 p.m., screening of Gaël Mange’s film in the screening room (1h03) :

Les Milandes, a showcase of biodiversity” is a unique documentary film highlighting the biodiversity present in the gardens of the Château des Milandes.

An exceptional adventure enhanced by the moving images of Gaël who was one with nature for almost a year, camouflaged out of sight of the discreet beings who come to visit us in the early morning or at nightfall!

You will then be able to speak directly with Gaël Mange, Patrick, our animal manager, and Angélique de Labarre, owner of Milandes, about this incredible immersion in the heart of the animal world! (30min)

The films will be broadcast again at 7:00 p.m. with the possibility of dining at the brasserie (a la carte dish) afterwards.

 

At 10:00 p.m., exceptional night walk “The secret life of Milandes” (30 min) :

Set off to discover the nocturnal fauna of the Château des Milandes gardens! You will be in the company of Manon Béréhouc, bat specialist, Gaël Mange, animal videographer, Patrick, our animal manager, and Angélique de Labarre, owner of Milandes.

 

Our raptor presentations take place at 11:15 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Each speaker will be able to sign their works available at the store.

The celebrations continue with our various speakers, between conferences, round tables and film screenings!

From 10:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., different stands will be accessible in the exhibition room located in the old castle cellar :

Château des Milandes is honored to participate in several reintroduction programs, thus raising awareness among our visitors about the protection of endangered species.

Two programs will be highlighted: the reintroduction of Ural owls (Strix uralensis) in the Bavarian Forest and the White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) on the shores of Lake Geneva.

At the end of the intervention, you will be able to find out more about the barn owl (Tyto alba) which will be presented to you by our falconers.

 

At 12:00 p.m., walk with Angélique de Labarre, owner of Milandes, in the company of sculptor Franck Espagnet in the gardens (30min) :

At 3:45 p.m., walk in the park with Marc Hammouche (naturalist) :

Go to the goat enclosure for a thirty-minute walk to meet the world of insects.

 

At 3:45 p.m., “wild cooking, from plants to syrup” workshop with Séverine Bosq (herbalist) (45min) :

Immerse yourself in the world of edible plants. Pick and make a raw plant syrup to take home! This workshop is by reservation by telephone at 05.53.59.31.21.

At 5:15 p.m., screening of Manon Béréhouc’s film on bats in the projection room (20 min) :

Thanks to her book “Cavernicole”, Manon Béréhouc puts the spotlight on these fascinating little mammals but whose dark myth sometimes leads to some preconceived ideas! Embark on a unique exploration through photography and the author’s personal experience.

His short film, inspired by this work, won the grand prize at the Namur International Nature Festival in 2025!

Manon Béréhouc will then be present to answer your questions (20min).

 

At 7:00 p.m., screening of Gaël Mange’s film in the screening room (1h03) :
